We are excited to share that 70 new chrome books arrived this week along with two charging carts! We will be unpacking and setting up the chrome books and we are aiming for distribution to the 7th graders as a pilot group for in-school, one-to-one usage by the end of April. There will be a 7th grade parent meeting and presentation to review the policies and usage agreements prior to students receiving their chrome books. (The date of the parent meeting will be communicated next week)
Each student will be assigned a chrome book that will only be used by them and they are respon sible for the care and charging of their chrome book. As we begin this pilot, the chrome books will remain at school at all times. Over the summer we will be receiving additional chrome books to accommodate one–to-one chrome books for all students in grades 3-8 for in-school usage. Funds from this year’s Fund the Need and next year’s Capital Improvement Endowment will be used to pay for the carts, three year lease on the chrome books, extended warrantee and accidental damage insurance for the devices. We are excited about this next step in continuing to integrate technology into the classroom. We will continue to share technologyupdates and how students and teachers are utilizing the chrome books over the next few months!
This week, each kindergarten through second grade classroom received 5 new ipads for student use. (That is a total of 30 new ipads) Teachers will use the ipads to enhance student learning through enrichment opportunities or to provide additional reinforcement of concepts if additional practice is needed. The addition of these 30 ipads brings the total count of ipads in the elementary building to 60 ipads!
Thank you for your continued support of our school and Advancement fundraising efforts, which made these
upgrades and enhancements possible!
