Monday, March 8

1. With the onset of spring-like weather, the children will return to staying outside on the playground in the morning until the 7:40 bell.

2. Rehearsals for Cast A fourth and fifth grade cast members of There's No Business Like Show Business will be held in Rm. L24 of the Ministry Center from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

3. The featured menu items for today's hot lunch are hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and grilled chicken sandwiches.

4. Jr. high cast members of Guys and Dolls will have rehearsal in Zuker Hall from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.

5. Our jr. high students will participate in the Steps to Respect program during 8th period.

  • 6th graders will learn about bystanders.
  • 7th graders will talk about sexual harassment
  • 8th graders will discuss bullying in dating relationships.

6. There will be a Coffee with the Principal today for second grade parents. It will be held in Rm. L 24 at 1:00 p.m.

7. Mr. Schielke will meet with Science Olympiad team after school.

8. Confirmation service hours are to be turned into Mrs. McDonagh.
 
9. Auction books are being sent home with the youngest child of each family.
 

Tuesday, March 9

1. The Ecology Club will meet with Mr. Schielke at noon. He will also be working with the Science Olympiad team after school.

2. Fr. Milota meet with first grade in church at 1:15 to talk about the stained glass windows.

3. Our Yearbook staff meets with Mrs. McDonagh following dismissal.

4. The Tech Team will meet with Mrs. Fitzgerald after school.

Wednesday, March 10

1. Vision and hearing re-tests will take place this morning in the conference room off of the jr. high library.

2. Students in both buildings will participate in a lockdown drill during the day.

3. Rehearsals for Cast B fourth and fifth grade cast members of There's No Business Like Show Business will be held in Rm. L24 of the Ministry Center from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

4. Jr. high cast members of Guys and Dolls will have rehearsal in Zuker Hall from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.

5. The Young Rembrandt's program will meet in the Art Room after school.

6. The Athletic Association is holding a Positive Coaching Alliance workshop tonight for all parents who missed the earlier meetings. It will take place in Zuker Hall and run from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Thursday, March 11

1. Our entire student body will attend this morning's 8:00 a.m. Mass that is being prepared by our first graders.

2. Extraordinary ministers for today's liturgy are Mrs. Steck, Mr. Schielke, Mrs. McDonagh, and Mrs. Siegert.

3. Third graders have a field trip to the DuPage County Agricultural Expo planned for today.

4. Graduation pictures for Class of 2010 will be taken this morning in Zuker Hall.

5. The school store will not be open today.

6. There will be a Coffee with the Principal today for first grade parents in Rm. L 24 at 1:00 p.m.

7. E-invitations to next Monday's fourth grade coffee and Tuesday's fifth grade coffee will be online this afternoon.

8. Students required to serve either an academic or behavior detention today will be monitored by Mrs. Gensler.

9. Jr. high parents will be able to go online at 3:00 p.m. to check on their children's academic progress.

10. Mr. Rosas and our school band will be traveling to Notre Dame University for a band workshop.

11. Rehearsals will be held for next month's Fine Arts Festival will be held in Rm. U 217-218 of the Ministry Center from 2:15 – 4:30.

12. The Yearbook staff will meet with Mrs. McDonagh after school.

Friday, March 12

1. Our annual Hobby fair will be held today in Zuker Hall. This will necessitate the children eating their lunch in their homerooms.

2. The Diocesan Science Fair takes center stage today with judging taking place at the St. Charles Pastoral Center in Romeoville. Representing our school will be Tess Foral, Ryan Will, Anthony Gedvilas, Mary Kate Zimmerman, Hannah Kenny, Anna Moylan, and Katie Gallagher. Winners will advance to the state contest.

Saturday, March 13

 

1. Our 17th annual school auction, Fiesta del Sol, will be held at the Bobak's Signature Room at Seven Bridges in Woodridge. Our thanks to all who have worked so tirelessly on any of the committees that helped stage this fund-raiser, and especially to this year's chairs: Tammy & Terry Conway, Jerry & Cate Rixie, and Dave & Julie Sanchez.

Sunday, March 14

1. At today's 12:30 Mass in church, our parish will bid farewell to business manager Marty Szczech who is retiring his position. Following the liturgy, a reception will be held in the Ministry Center Social Hall.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Now that the interscholastic basketball season is nearly completed, please note that uniforms are to be cleaned and turned in either at school on Friday, March 19, or in the gym on Saturday, March 20.
